Building Community

Family-owned Sperr's Fuel and Heating makes an effort to give to community causes that align with our own core values.  Each year, we choose 2-3 charities to support philanthropically.  This approach allows us to make a bigger impact in the community.  We were delighted to offer that financial and fuel support most recently to the organizations below.  Please consider checking out these worthy causes and pledging your support too!

Sperr's Fuel and Providence Animal Center

Sperr's Fuel and Heating is proud to support the life-saving work of the Providence Animal Center.  Laura Sperratore has been involved with the Center since she adopted her first dog, Blaze, in 1998.  Both Mark and Laura are animal lovers and  make their home with three rescues, Dixie, an English Shepherd and sister kittens, Lucy and Kali.

Sperr's Fuel and Heating and Mark and Laura Sperratore sponsored two recent fundraising events for the Providence Animal Center.  The GIMME SHELTER GALA was held at the beautiful Inn at Villanova University in Radnor on Saturday, April 13 and was well attended.  Laura, right, is seen cuddling with one of many adoptable pets the Center is caring for right now.

The night was filled with delicious cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, dinner and dancing to a Rolling Stones cover band.  Among the guests were WMMR's radio personality, Steve Morrison.

Providence also hosted their annual Rescued on the Runway luncheon on Sunday, April 14 at the Kings Mills facility.  Pictured left are Mark and Laura Sperratore enjoying a few hours off from fuel deliveries.

The beautiful and talented Sue Serio from FOX 29's Good Day Philadelphia was on hand with husband and former Fox 29 sports anchor, Bill Vargus.  Both Sue and Bill are longtime supporters of PAC.

Sperr's Fuel supports TCF's Vest-A-Cop

The Sperratores heard about the Vest-A-Cop program through a story in the Delco Times. Their bank, County Savings, was hosting a fundraiser for the group and they knew they needed to jump on board. Shown at right are Mark and Laura, flanked by officers from the Media Borough Police Department, including FOP President, Skip Carroll with one of the vests their donation provided.

Vest-A-Cop seeks to ensure that all first responders have the necessary life-saving equipment.  Some departments do not have the funds to afford vests, or may not offer part-time officers vests.  This is where Vest-A-Cop steps in. To learn more about the mission of Vest-A-Cop please visit their website.

Sperr's Fuel and Heating proudly supported the efforts of WMMR's Preston & Steve's Camp Out for Hunger event during Thanksgiving week, November 2018. Sperr's provided the fuel for the generators which kept this live event running.
